Already since 1971 the biological treatment of wastewater and sewage sludge has been part of our range of services. In 1980, an important department has been implicated to this area: Anaerobic digestion for organic material. The first industrial scale plant for biogas from cattle manure with a 500 m3 digester went into operation in 1983. To date, we have successfully completed numerous anaerobic digestion and biogas plants as well as mechanical pre-treatment and composting plants for various types of waste.

As process engineering orientated general contracting company, we are constantly improving and extending our process products and technologies. More than 25 years of experience in the planning, construction, commissioning and long-term operational support of more than 40 reference plants ensure the economical efficiency and operational reliability of a plant from STRABAG Umweltanlagen GmbH.
